I've had implants for more than 10 years, 5 in my upper mouth with a complete bridge covering them. However after such a long time there have been several breakages that have been the cause of much concern in terms of finding a dentist who can work with the system I have in place (my original dentist has fled the country taking my dossier with him), the potential cost of renewing the bridge (estimated at between 2,000 and 10,000 Euros) and the projection on how long it would take to renew the overall construction (+/- 4weeks). Against this background we'd followed the rule of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it!' and I'd delayed sorting this out. Á couple of weeks ago it did break and, given the fact that I frequently need to make presentations in my line of work, my worst nightmare had finally happened and I was forced to have things fixed. My dentist found Tandartsenpractijk Ijburg for me as a dentist that did use the system that I have and an appointment was made for a consultancy on a Monday afternoon .... No surprise that I was terrified as to the potential time, cost and effort that I now had to go through to get things fixed. But these fears were put to rest almost immediately... I was advised that the shattered bridge could be repaired and that this could be done on the following day. I was back on the Tuesday morning to have the routine things done like taking measurements, bite, etc. etc. The person who was going to make the repair was also present and in consultation on the process. The bridge was taken out (9:30am) and I was aked to return at 13:30 to have the repaired bride put back in. I believe the cost will only be a few hundred Euros as opposed to thousands. I returned at 13:15 and the new (better than ever) bridge was there waiting for me. It was not only the efficiency of getting things done that implressed me. Everyone I met at Tandartsenpractijk Ijburg was so nice and friendly and the atmosphere of the practice was very relaxed but very professional and efficient. A very special mention, too, for the person who treated my, Gert Jan. I've had several dentists in the past and almost feel I can sense when I'm in good hands. Gert Jan had great sympathy for the urgency with which I needed a solution to my problem and soon put my mid at rest about the fact that this should not cost what others had quoted. True to his word I felt really confident in his personal approach, his technical competence and overall technical excellence. You can imagine my relief (and excitement) at having found somewhere I can go to if I have future probems Thank you Tandartsenpractijk Ijburg!
